Richard Soukup Photography has been providing quality photography work since our founding in 2004. It is our mission to capture the feelings, emotions and events that shape our clients, their families and their history, in ways and methods that are both trend setting and everlasting!

We want to share the talent we have been given for making great, longlasting/timeless images documenting the great times and milestones you and your family have experienced. We want to do so in a creative way that presents you in a unique, positive light, with results you'll want to share with the entire world!

I got started in the photography business after a great career in radio and communications work. I think my late mother had an idea that I might have a gift for quality photography, as I had received a total of three cameras as gifts from her over the years!

My college work was at three different colleges, one in Boston, one in Jacksonville, Florida (Associate degree in Broadcasting) and Salisbury State University, in Salisbury, MD, where I received my B.A. in Communication Arts.

I spent several years working in radio at stations in both Delaware and Pennsylvania. I've also been employed in the non-profit sector, retail and entertainment fields!

Sales and retail management has been a big part of the latter part of my work history. My time as a photo lab manager got my creative juices rolling and contributed to the decision to open Richard Soukup Photography. Several photographers have been a help to me as far as mentoring me thru this wonderful art, and I am grateful to them as well!

I had already started doing coursework at New York Institute of Photography, and had obtained certification in a number of areas relating to the tech end of imaging. The big event that created this wonderful thing known as Richard Soukup Photography came when one of our pharmacy interns at Eckerd and his soon to be wife saw some of my work and basically told me I was doing their wedding! Angela and Larry were the first clients to use our services and I am forever grateful at the chance to capture the biggest day in their lives.

Our business has grown to include more weddings, seniors, family portraits, newspaper and commercial work.I also donate time in various ways thruout the area, including the Clearfield County Fair and Park Board by serving as MC for the annual Clearfield County Fair Parade, and have donated my services to various groups in Clearfield County.

As big as we may get, we will always remember that the client is trusting us with capturing the events that shape their lives...an awesome responsibility we take seriously and cherish daily!
